7/31/17:
"Anish-Rajan at HP, Chazz/Gen/Chris host 10 at C.G.!":
GTA Monday Tennis took place at two locations: Holster Park in Clifton featuring the Grove Cup XX Round of 32 Match between "The AM Rush" Anish Mehta and "Ragin" Rajan Shah (with Anish reporting); and The Cedar Grove Courts with "The Legendary" Chazz Weldon, "The S Bomber" Genalin Capan and Former GTA Champ: "King Crush" Chris Chiaro all acting as hosts by submitting their results directly.
We will first go to the result (with commentary) from Anish and then we will close this report with all that took place up at Cedar Grove (in approximate chronological order).
The Holster Park Result:
Grove Cup XX Round of 32 Match:
Anish Mehta over Rajan Shah, 6-0, 6-4, to advance to the Round of 16 of the 20th Annual Grove Cup Tournament! This was not a rank defense for Mehta as he is solely in the Advanced Division while Shah is solely in the Intermediate Division. Anish: 7 Aces!
The AM News: We started the match around noon. Both of us had some sort of injury (mine is the elbow and he is dealing with wrist problems). My strategy was to chip and charge the net as much as possible to avoid stressing out my arm. It worked in the 1st Set. Then Rajan took it up a notch and took a 2-0, 30-15 lead in the 2nd Set. My serve was working, so I got back on serve, stayed pretty safe on my serve, and was able to put together 2-3 points in a row to break him the in last game of the set to take the match. Things were pretty even until the last 30 seconds of that set.
Samara's Notes: I thank Anish for his timely reporting and congratulate him on a very impressive victory.
We now head up to Cedar Grove and we will hear from Chazz, Gen and Chris in that order.
The Cedar Grove Results:
Chazz Weldon over Jay Phoenix, 6-1! No Aces.

All That Chazz: We played from 6:10 to 7:25. It was two fun and competitive One-Setter in very humid weather.
Lou La Forgia/Arthur Fontanilla over Michel Encarnacion/Genalin Capan, 6-1! Michel: 1 Ace on Lou.
Gen's Notes: We played this on Court 4 from 7:55 to 8:25. I only played the one set.
Nathan Fernandes/Moka Pathan over Chris Chiaro/Raj Shah, 6-4! Chris: 1 Ace on Moka.
Chris Chiaro/Raj Shah over Nathan Fernandes/Moka Pathan, 6-2! Raj: 1 Ace on Nathan.
Chris Chiaro/Raj Shah over Lou La Forgia/Arthur Fontanilla, 6-4! No Aces.
Chris Chiaro/Raj Shah tied with Nathan Fernandes/Lou La Forgia, 3-3 (Incomplete when the lights went out at 10pm)! No Aces.
Samara's Notes: I thank Chazz, Gen and Chris for all acting as hosts of this session and reporting their results in such a timely manner. Gen had told me she saw other GTA players up there. I'm not going to list their names as they clearly decided not to report their results…so they will just remain unofficial and that's that!
