"Just 4 play at C.G. as Ryan is impromptu host!":
GTA Thursday Night Tennis turned out to be a disappointment in more ways than one. First, nobody took Christine Toth up on her offer to play at the Albion Park Courts in Clifton at 6pm.
Then, later in the evening, "The Lumberjack" Ryan Pienciak sent an e-mail out to the league around 8:20 while he was at The Cedar Grove Courts wondering why there were no GTA players there.
Well, it turns out that wasn't entirely true. We now turn this report over to Ryan so he can explain.
Laurie Boughton showed up a few minutes after I had e-mailed the league. We hit for a while, and then realized the people playing on the other court were Anna Mazur and Walter Porucznik. We asked if they wanted to play Mixed Doubles and they agreed.
The Cedar Grove Result:
Walter Porucznik/Anna Mazur over Ryan Pienciak/Laurie Boughton, 7-6 (7-5)! No Aces (apparently).
The Ryan Report: Laurie and I were down 2-5 before fighting back all the way to a Tiebreak! It was a fun match. It was a beautifully brisk night. I was shocked there weren't more people there!
