11/25/17:
"Gen-Mole 1-Setters at AP, Doinks hosts 7 at C.G.!":
There were two sessions of GTA Saturday Tennis: an afternoon one at the Albion Park Courts in Clifton featuring a couple "Battle of The Sexes" style Singles One-Setters between "Del Brotro" Mike Mole and "The S Bomber" Genalin Capan (as reported by Gen) and then an evening one that came together up at The Cedar Grove Courts with "The Marathon Woman" Doinks Srinivasan acting as the impromptu host. We will first get the results from Gen and then turn this report over to Doinks.
The Albion Park Results:
Mike Mole over Genalin Capan, 6-4! Mike: 3 Aces! We played this one from 3pm to 3:30 (after having hit for 45 minutes from 2:15 to 3pm).
Genalin Capan over Mike Mole, 7-6 (7-4)! Mike: 3 Aces (two of them in the same service game)! We played this one from 3:30 to 4:30.
Gen's Notes: Mike was leading at 3-2, 4-2 and 5-2, then I held for 3-5. Mike was broken on serve to get it closer for me at 4-5. I was then down on my serve at 15-40 (Double Break Point), but I saved 4 Match Points to level it 5-All! Then Mike held for 6-5 and I for held 6-6 to take us into the Tiebreak.
In the TB, I had leads of 3-0, 3-2, 4-2, 5-2, 5-3, 6-3, 6-4 and then finally 7-4 to win it!
Samara's Notes: That last one sounds like a definite Nominee for One-Set Singles Specialty Match of The Year at season's end. I thank Gen for her very timely reporting. We now go to Cedar Grove and let Doinks take it away!
The Cedar Grove Results:
Mike Kazlauskas/Doinks Srinivasan over Kris Srinivasan/Jorge Solano, 6-3! Jorge: 1 Ace on Doinks.
Mike Kazlauskas/Doinks Srinivasan over Sairaj Srinivasan/Jorge Solano, 6-3! No Aces.
Jordan Bachvaroff/Jorge Solano over Kris Srinivasan/Doinks Srinivasan, 6-2! Jordan: 1 Ace on Doinks.
Jordan Bachvaroff/Doinks Srinivasan over Kris Srinivasan/Jose Gonzales, 7-5! Jose: 1 Ace on Doinks.
At the beginning of the session, we saw Art Fontanilla and Jordan Bachvaroff just hitting with one another. Gen also came and hit with our son Sairaj.
Samara's Notes: I thank Doinks for stepping up as the impromptu host and reporting these results in such a timely fashion.
Sincerely,
Frank Samara
