4/5 Results.

4/5/18:

"6 play at C.G., 10 compete (2 just hit) at The Bubble!":

There were two sessions of GTA Thursday Night Tennis: one at The Cedar Grove Courts where "Del Brotro" Mike Mole, "The Marathon Woman" Doinks Srinivasan and "Nate the Great" Nathan Fernandes all sent in the results and the other was the usual Night Owls session at The Wayne Bubble with scores reported by "The AM Rush" Anish Mehta and "The Riz" John Rizzo as "Hollywood" Frank Samara chose not to appear at the session.

We will now get the results from all the above in the order in which they were played (at Cedar Grove, at least…it will be harder to do that for the scores from The Bubble).

The Cedar Grove Results:

Mike Mole over Moka Pathan, 6-4!  No Aces.

The Mole Memo: We started off with a hitting session and then went into the One-Setter.  Total time was 6 to 7pm.  Moka hasn't been hitting for over a month, but he's playing good.

Moka Pathan/Doinks Srinivasan over Mike Mole/Edwin Ortega, 6-4!  No Aces.  This was from 7pm to 7:45.

2 out of 3 Sets Mixed Doubles Match:

Nathan Fernandes/Natalia Sout over Edwin Ortega/Doinks Srinivasan, 6-3, 6-0, to successfully defend their # 3 Rank in the Mixed Doubles Division!  In the process, Ortega/Srinivasan entered the division as the New # 40 Ranked Team.  No Aces.

Nathan Fernandes/Natalia Sout over Edwin Ortega/Doinks Srinivasan, 6-3!  No Aces.

Samara's Notes: I thank Mike, Doinks and Nate for reporting those results in a very timely fashion.

The Wayne Bubble Results:

2 out of 3 Sets Doubles Match:

Ryan Pienciak/Frank Hohorst over Paul Daddio/John Rizzo, 4-6, 6-3, 7-5, to become the New #12 Ranked Team in the Doubles Division!  No Aces.

2 out of 3 Sets Doubles Match:

Tony Shiao/Tom La over Dan Hwang/Rich Liu, 6-4, 6-4, to successfully defend their # 91 Rank in the Doubles Division!  In the process, Hwang/Liu entered the division as the New # 143 Ranked Team.  No Aces.

The Riz Report: Syed Rashid and Mike Sindler were only able to have a hitting session with one another.

Anish Mehta over Rich Liu, 6-2!  Anish: 3 Aces!

Anish Mehta leading Rich Liu, 3-1 (Incomplete when the session ran out of time)!  No Aces.

Samara's Notes: I also thank Anish and John for reporting those results in a very timely fashion.

Sincerely,

Frank Samara
