"Gero-Gero in Glen Rock, 13 compete (1 New) at Cedar Grove!":
There were two sessions of GTA Saturday Tennis: an early afternoon one at The Glen Rock Courts featuring a full 2 out of 3 Sets Challenge Match that was "Father versus Son" as Brad Gero put his Intermediate rank on the line against his son, Alex; and then a later afternoon one at The Cedar Grove Courts hosted by "The Marathon Woman" Doinks Srinivasan, but with additional results being reported by "Stealth" Omar Santos, "Ragin'" Rajan Shah and "Diver Down" Muhammad Haque.
Also, "Ice Berg" Scott Bergenfeld reported having a hitting session with "ADP" Austin DePol and Natalia "Nitro" Sout before the others arrived, but that those three couldn't play any official sets at that time. Austin ended up leaving before the official action got underway.
We will first go to Glen Rock and get Brad's report of the match against his son and then we will head up to Cedar Grove for the multiple reports from Doinks, Omar, Rajan and Muhammad.
The Glen Rock Result:
2 out of 3 Sets Challenge Match:
Alex Gero over Brad Gero, 6-3, 6-2, to become the New # 25 Ranked Player in the Intermediate Division! No Aces (apparently).
The Skinny: Brad said they played from 12:30 to 2:30.
Samara's Notes: I thank Brad for sending this report in a very timely manner. He also reported that Alex has now also registered for the upcoming GTA Intermediate Invitational Tournament.
We now turn this report over to Doinks and then Omar, Rajan and Muhammad. Doinks said that three of the four courts were occupied by GTA players.
The Cedar Grove Results:
Natalia Sout/Rachel Claire over Doinks Srinivasan/Louise Bysiek, 6-4! No Aces (apparently). It was the official GTA Debut of Rachel Claire.
The Skinny: Doinks said that Rachel is friends with Louise.
Fadia Nicolas/Louise Bysiek over Doinks Srinivasan/Rachel Claire, 7-6 (7-5)! No Aces (apparently).
Fadia Nicolas/Louise Bysiek tied with Doinks Srinivasan/Rachel Claire, 4-4 (Incomplete when Rachel had to leave)! No Aces (apparently).
The Skinny: Doinks also said it was getting cold around this time anyway.
Chris Chiaro/Fadia Nicolas over Omar Santos/Scott Bergenfeld, 6-3! No Aces.
Omar Santos/Scott Bergenfeld over Chris Chiaro/Natalia Sout, 6-4! No Aces.
2 out of 3 Sets Doubles Match:
Mike Mole/T.J. Shah over Rajan Shah/Roger Karapin, 6-2, 6-2, as both teams entered the Doubles Division as the New # 161 and # 162 Ranked Teams respectively! No Aces (apparently).
Chris Chiaro/Natalia Sout over Mike Mole/Muhammad Haque, 7-5! No Aces (apparently).
Samara's Notes: I thank Doinks, Omar, Rajan and Muhammad for sending in those results in a very timely fashion. A total of 13 players competed at Cedar Grove which does not include Austin as he only got involved in a hitting session.
