5/31/18:
"Fernanda-Brenda at C.G. early!":
There was just one official session of GTA Thursday Tennis: an early morning one at the Cedar Grove Courts that featured a Challenge Match between "The Argentine Machine" Fernanda Toker and "Bravo" Brenda Jordan (with Fernanda reporting).
I know there was a lot of back and forth later in the day on the e-mails trying to set up an evening session. If such a session took place, no one ever sent in any results from it…so I will just let it stand as unofficial. I cannot continue to chase down scores…especially while I am still playing catch-up with all those that were submitted in a timely manner.
Let's go to that lone official result now!
The Cedar Grove Result:
2 out of 3 Sets Challenge Match:
Fernanda Toker over Brenda Jordan, 6-3, 6-3, to successfully defend her # 2 Rank in the Women's Division! No Aces.
Toker's Take: I was originally scheduled to play Anna Mazur today, but she cancelled yesterday at the last minute. I only had this morning to play (get my rank defense in for the month), so thankfully I know that Brenda can usually play during the day. I reached out to her and we played from 9:30 to 11am...ending right before the rain came. It is always a pleasure playing her!
